Abstract

The advancement of artificial lighting technology has enabled a lifestyle free from the restriction of natural daylight. However, scientists have discovered that light, assisting the cardiovascular system and synchronizing the biological clock, is a vital form of energy and information to sustain human health.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) considers human beings undividable from its surrounding natural environment. When interpreted into the languages of physics and mathematics, the integrative oriental medical approach of light to human health in a holistic point of view.
