Study by ferromagnetic resonance of Fe/CoNbZr multilayer structures

Abstract

The magnetic properties of Fe/CoZrNb multilayers were studied by ferromagnetic resonance as a function of CoZrNb interlayer thickness tc. For tc≥40 Å the CoZrNb remains amorphous, a fairly good agreement exists between the as computed and experimental value of (4πMs)eff and the resonance linewidth δH is independent of tc. For tc≤30 Å the experimental (4πMs)eff deviates from the computed value, and δH increases progressively when tc becomes smaller. These results correlate with structural properties which shown that thin CoZrNb interlayers are crystalline and Fe exhibits a columnar growth in the film thickness direction.
