Abstract
Amsterdam's inner city is degenerating into unmanageable transport chaos. It is time to acknowledge and resolve that. This article contributes some possible solutions: tighten policy by redefining what constitutes a bicycle, scooter, motorbike or car, rearrange lanes, and introduce paid parking for all long-term vehicles parked on public roads. Finally, to enforce this, and deter theft, the final recommendation is to also introduce a license plate requirement for electric bicycles and cargo bikes.
