Spectral distribution of rain-induced amplitude and phase scintillation

Abstract

In this paper formulas to determine the spectral distribution of rain-induced amplitude and phase scintillation are derived. Computed results are presented for an 8. 2 km line-of-sight radio link operating at 30 GHz, and shown to be different from spectra for turbulence-induced tropospheric scintillation. Previously published measured and rain-induced scintillation spectra and additional experimental results are discussed.
