Abstract

The papers in this special issue focus on the research and development of service-oriented collaborative computing technologies and their applications to the design of products, processes, systems and services in an industrial and social viewpoint.

Funding

Weiming Shen received his Bachelor and Mas-ters degrees from Northern (Beijing) Jiaotong University, China (in 1983 and 1986 respectively) and his PhD degree from the University of Tech-nology of Compiegne, France (in 1996). He is cur-rently a Senior Research Scientist at the National Research Council Canada, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. His research interest includes intelligent software agents, service-oriented computing, wireless sensor networks, IoT, and Big Data. He is a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada, and a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada.
