Abstract

This paper proposes a strategy to reduce wave reflections in a haptic system with constant time delay. The method separates the wave from its reflections by projection the observed wave on vector spaces that are characteristic for both signals. This would lead to a more realistic force feedback to the user. The influence of the sparse filter is examined through simulation and validated by an experiment on an 1DOF haptic system with a virtual environment.
