Abstract
The field dependence of the thermal conductivity lambda of two well known quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnetic Heisenberg systems TMMC and DMMC is measured between 1.5 and 7K and in magnetic fields up to 90 kOe. The substantial reduction of lambda as a function of field in the paramagnetic state can excellently be explained by assuming solitons as the dominant magnetic excitations and a resonant soliton-phonon scattering model.
