Abstract

Currently in Philips Lighting there is no tool that allows users to interact with a simulated lighting system and that, in real time, shows the effects of that interaction in a visually at-tractive way. Until recently, creating such a tool was not possible due to hardware limitations. However, recently with the increase of hardware capabilities in small computers and the improvements done in world simulations by gaming companies, it is possible to create such a tool that can be executed in a business computer. Simulight aims to be the first iteration of such an interactive lighting simulation tool. The results of the project shows that a simulation made in a game engine connected to a commissioning tool is in-deed a feasible and valuable project for Philips Lighting.
