Abstract

The Broadband Photonics Project develops reconfigurable access networks for providing the user with congestion-free access to virtually unlimited bandwidth. Design as well as simulation results of BB Photonics access network architecture with wavelength agnostic optical network units based on a reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) and a wavelength router based on ring resonators filtering characteristics are presented in this paper.
