Abstract
A formal model of the information exchange process during a (building) project is presented. The process description consists of the required input and output for each actIvity in the project. The model is implemented by means of colored Petri Nets. Simulation of the model for a specific project shows any hidden inconsistency or incompleteness in the project description. From the simulation an activity network, time schedule and message exchange diagram can be deduced for the project.
