Abstract

A new shear test vas developed to measure the shear strength of metal-ceramic joints, in which stress concentrations at the ends of the overlap are reduced by reshaping the profile of the metal adherend. An analytical model vas developed to calculate the shear stress along the bond. Finite element calculations were performed to check the validity of the analytical model.
