Abstract

This paper discusses the outcome of the application of an industrial risk management technique called PRJSMA (Prevention and Recovery Information System for Recovery and Analysis) in the medical domain. Based on the differences between industry and medicine the original method was modified for the medical domain. The differences between domains and the changes that were made to the original model to improve its applicability following studies in accident and emergency and anaesthesia are discussed. The results of the application ofthe new model in two accident and emergency studies are presented.
