Abstract

In order to contribute towards handling the malnutrition problem among older adults, this paper proposes an electronic marketplace for food service, which provides a rich pool of information enabling the selection of reliable and nutritionally enriched food services for older adults, meeting their dietary constraints and different food preferences. In particular, the marketplace supports the publication, description, discovery, and monitoring of the various food delivery services that are made available for older adults by different food providers. Both a suitable architectural design and a formal knowledge representation are presented for this purpose. This food marketplace is developed within the context of the DIET4Elders project.
