Abstract

Reflectivity (reflection losses) investigations of metal samples with different types of surface finishing and coating have
been carried out with a dedicated test facility available at the Applied Physics Institute. The test facility is shortly
discussed, with the techniques, which permit to achieve accurate results and to focus on the actual parameters to be
tested. Good experiences with the test facility, using high quality silver coated mirrors, as well as aluminium control
samples serve as reference and results are described in the 110 – 200 GHz frequency range for different samples relative
to these reference samples. Accurate results are then derived with indicative interesting results. Two sets of test samples
have been investigated. They are indicated respectively as ‘1st’ and ‘2nd’ set. Additionally the results are reported of
tests of samples, potentially envisaged for the baffle of the telescope of the Planck satellite
