Abstract

We have investigated the dynamics of photogenerated carriers in GaAs quantum wires during their transport by surface acoustic waves using spatially and time-resolved photoluminescence. This technique allows us to map in real time the spatial carrier distribution during the transport as well as to study the nature of radiative defect sites in the transport path
