Abstract

An experimental demonstration of 2.5 Gbit/s real‐time ultra‐wideband transmission is presented, using a Schottky diode‐based envelope detector fabricated ad‐hoc using microstrip technology on a Rogers6002 substrate and surface‐mount components. Real‐time transmission with a BER below FEC threshold is achieved for 20 cm of wireless transmission at 2.5 Gbit/s and 50 cm at 1.25 Gbit/s. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
