Abstract
In the previous period a lot of effort was put into the generation of variants and the making of a list of requirements. This quartile, a final design was chosen and further elaborated. First, out of the 13 variants, three were chosen to make into a simplified wooden model. Doing so, the challenging aspects of the structural design will be easily shown.
Next, a final design was chosen based on the models. This model was again made into various physical models to analyse various options of detailing. In addition, a structural analysis was conducted using Karamba as a plug in for Grasshopper and Rhino. Parallel to this development, the global architecture was developed, which had consequences for the structural design. Moreover, a cross section optimization has been conducted. Furthermore, the influence of stay cables has proven to be highly efficient in order reduce the weight of the tower. Finally, a global introduction into the design of the foundation has been done. As a result, all elements are now roughly dimensioned, leading to a final model which can be presented during the EPIC conference at Eurosonic Noorderslag this January.
