Abstract

An experiment on the feedback control of tearing modes by ECRH/ECCD is under preparation at the TEXTOR tokamak. The basis of the feedback control system will be formed by a bi-directional launcher for ECRH and ECE. This presentation will describe the physical principles underlying feedback control by a bi-directional ECRH/ECE launcher. The desing, fabrication and installation of the bi-directional launcher for theTEXTOR tokamak will be presented. The first ECE measurements with the new system will be described. First tests of system performance during high power ECRH will be performed shortly. The further steps towards realization of feedback control of tearingmodes on TEXTOR will be discussed.
