Abstract

This paper deals with solutions for wheel power steering of a powertrain for passenger cars equipped with a metal V-belt CVT and a compact flywheel. The flywheel serves as a power assist rather than as an accumulator for hybrid vehicle propulsion. This makes it possible to improve both the fuel economy and the driveability without compromise.
