Abstract

This three-part article addresses the photocatalytic properties of concrete containing titanium dioxide (TiO2). In the first part, the evaluation of the air purifying abilities of the final concrete product is described. A setup for measuring the performance of photocatalytic active concrete products is presented. The test setup uses the UV-A induced degradation of nitric oxide (NO) and is oriented to the draft version of the ISO standard TC 206/SC N [1]. Besides the introduction of the test setup, a uniform measuring procedure is presented to the reader in order to evaluate the performance of photocatalytic active concrete products.
