Abstract

Creative design of visual instructions can be supported by a thorough analysis of the various phases in the information that has to be transmitted to users of complex products and surroundings. These phases can be based on an overview of information types in instructions. This study presents the overview and proposes an ordening of the types of information into phases for designers of visual instructions.
