Abstract

Through the Mo-Si-C phase diagram, the 1200 Deg cross section was made by analyzing equilibrated ternary alloys and diffusion couples. The diffusion kinetics in couples of Mo-SiC type were studied. In the diffusion zone, 3 phases, i.e., Mo5Si3C, Mo5Si3, Mo2C, were formed, each exhibiting a clear texture. The total layer thickness increases parabolically with increasing time. [on SciFinder (R)]
