Application of combustion heated thermionic systems for cogeneration purposes involves major modifications to the heating system. The system behaviour of a thermionic domestic heating system has been studied. In a previous study (Veltkamp 1992) the behaviour of a system with recuperator is assessed. In this study the dimensions of the parts constituting the heating system are evaluated. First the optimum capacity of the converter is determined for a typical Dutch single family house, using a thermal storage and direct dumping of the electricity produced in the grid. Second the dimensions of the converter module are assessed using an analytical method. Last the exploitation of the thermionic cogeneration system is evaluated.
