Abstract

The article analyses the connection between entrepreneurship and immigrants' integration, especially from a social point of view, a connection frequently not analysed in depth. Starting from a research carried out in Genova, the article illustrates that having a business is strictly connected to an increasing perception of being accepted from the receiving society. Showing their skills, immigrant entrepreneurs perceived to be more considered by the natives, and they start to be seen as people with particular competences and not only as immigrants. This emerges mainly for those having a business not related to their country of origin and/or not mainly for a clientele of other immigrants.
