Abstract

It is demonstrated that the O-alkylation of acids and phenols with oxaphospholenes can be used as a model system for biochemical conversions. The mechanism of the acylation of Coenzyme A and a selection procedure for amino acids by the t-RNA synthetases are described with the aid of the model system.
