Abstract
In this paper we present some experimental results indicating the influence of several design parameters on the performance of a woodburning cookstove meant for use in developing countries. The behaviour of the stove is sought to be explained by a simple mathematical model. Taken together they suggest several possibi1ities of design optimization to meet diverse local requirements.
