Abstract
Overheating is an issue of concern in dwellings in general and low-energy dwellings more specifically. Solutions to the problem, apart from using air conditioning, are relatively straightforward but require an integrated design approach. In addition we see that the user behaviour becomes an increasing important parameter when we separate the indoor from outdoor more rigorously, as in low-energy dwellings. Supporting better user behaviour to combat overheating may be an easy first step for the existing housing stock.
