Optical phased array based on InGaAlAs phase modulators in an InP photonic integration platform

Abstract

We designed and fabricated a 24-channel optical phased array based on InGaAlAs phase modulators compatible with a generic InP photonic platform. We characterized its performance in the wavelength range 1530nm – 1630nm, and demonstrated proof-of-concept beamforming.
