Optical node with time-space-and-wavelength domain contention resolution capability

Abstract

We experimentally show up to 10 ms of optical buffering and wavelength conversion over 18nm, sustaining only 3.5dB of power penalty, in an optical node at 10 Gbit/s. The node is hence capable of time-spaceand-wavelength domain contention resolution.
