Abstract

In order to establish the nature of the chiral superstructures in more detail, an investigation was set out to study well defined oligomers of poly{2,5-bis[(S)-2-methylbutoxy]-1,4-phenylene vinylene} (BMB-PPV). The first result on the synthesis of a series of novel chiral methyl end capped BMB-PPV oligomers is presented, as model compounds of BMB-PPV, having well defined length. The preliminary spectroscopic investigations on the longest oligomer as an example is described.
