Abstract

Determination of antenna radiation characteristics can be done today with a number of methods. Far-field (FF), Compact Antenna Test Ranges (CATR), intermediate and near-field (NF) methods are applied. Processing of measured data is usually required to calculate desired parameters from the measured data. The Fourier transformation takes an important place and efficient algorithms are available to perform data reduction tasks (NF), in which use of the FFT is exploited. An outline description is given of a number of antenna test methods and some examples are described of application of measurement techniques involving datareduction in planar NF scanning, FF, intermediate and CATR testing.
