Abstract

A numerical experiment in the generation of a current-carrying cIot and its evolution in an MHD channel is performed fo~ a one-dime~sion~l nonstationary model of gas-mixture flow in an MHD facility with a shoc~ tube (at the Emd~oven Umv~r~Ity of !echnology, The Netherlands). The integral and local gasdynamtc and el~trodyn~c charactenstIcs studled prove useful for efficient diagnostics of the interaction of the current-carrymg cIot With the magnetic field under experimental conditions.
