Abstract

We design and investigate a novel polarization insensitive fold-back 40-channels 100GHz spacing planar Echelle grating multiplexer/demultiplexer. Results show -1.7 dB insertion loss, <-50dB cross-talk, 0.4dB polarization dependent loss and zero polarization dependent wavelength shift.
