Abstract

This zine shows a techno-aesthetic engagement with machine learning loss; trying to gauge its potential as a design material. Unlike arbitrary interfaces or the probability of this or that output, loss is the expression of the ‘formation’ of a model in training, a time outside of conventional use that is underinvestigated in design. This zine collects some loose thoughts and ends on techno-aesthetic material trajectories.
