Abstract

We compare several approaches to the fabrication of nanoscale quantum-dot LEDs for single-photon applications, including shadow-mask and oxide-confined structures. Strong carrier localization in the dots allows us to demonstrate efficient submicrometer-sized LEDs. [on SciFinder (R)]
