This rapport is the result of a nine months incompany assignment with van Zanten raadgevende ingenieurs (Zri). A methodology for advising in the selection of procurement strategies was already in use at Zri, but it was found rather limited. Consequently, for this assignment further research has been done into the different types of procurement strategy available, and the decision parameters. The procurement strategy is related to the characteristics of each building project. A diagnosis of theory and practice has been made, which resulted in strong points and weak points in the process of procurement.A methodology for procurement selection has been designed, based on this diagnosis. The methodology describes thoroughly all steps that should be made in the procurement process. Additionally various tools were developed to help Zri in advising their clients. A team of experts was formed to test this methodology. All remarks made by this team, have been integrated in the final design of the methodology.Through this methodology, the knowledge in the field of procurement, derived from theory and practice, can effectively be put into practice. Due to the methodology's digital format with hyperlinks, it can also be used very efficiently. As a result a firm foundation has been
