Monolithically Integrated Ultra-dense Polarization Insensitive 8x8 InP Switch for Optical Networks

Abstract

For the first time, we experimentally demonstrated an ultra-dense polarization-insensitive C-band 8x8 broadcast&select switch based on bulk SOAs. Results show broadband net-gain, low PDG<2dB, error-free operation with <0.2dB power-penalty at 30Gbps NRZ-modulated signal in C-band.
