Modelling of radiation transport in metal-halide lamps

Abstract

A two dimensional ray-tracing radiation code was developed in order to simulate radiation transport in metal-halide lamps. By exploiting the cylindrical symmetry of the model, a significant reduction in the calculation time could be achieved. The current model produces reasonable results, but further effort will have to be spend in order to reduce the calculation time.
