Abstract
This paper deals with the modeling and control of thermal induced deformations that are the result of a position dependent heat load. These deformations are modeled using a combination of spectral methods and FEM. For systems of this type, a distributed feedforward controller is proposed that acts only around the location of the heat load. The results of this controller show a significant reduction of thermal induced deformations of a flexible beam.
