Abstract

During the past decades mixed-use development has become a key part in modern urban planning and development strategies. It is believed that mixed-use development has significant efficacy in social, economic and environmental benefits, but these benefits are only proven qualitatively in most researches. The study of mixed-use on city scale should more systematically examine the efficacy, and more importantly, provide a profound understanding of mixed-use. Therefore this paper proposes a framework supporting quantitative city scale mixed-use research.
