Abstract

We consider receiver processing in a digital multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar system in monostatic configuration. The self-interference from transmitter to receiver antenna elements however limits the performance of such systems. We propose analog spatial nulling at the receiver front-end to mitigate the self-interference component. Furthermore, to tackle the Doppler intolerance of binary digital sequences, the proposed receiver processing chain compensates the Doppler shift in fast-time before range processing. We show the improved ability of the proposed system in detecting weak targets.
