Abstract

The magnetic properties of (CH3)2NH2MnCl3·2H2O have been investigated by measurements of the heat capacity, susceptibility and the magnetic phase diagram. All results unambiguously indicate a quasi one-dimensional magnetic behaviour. The intrachain exchange interaction is antiferromagnetic (J/k =-2.7±0.1 K) and three-dimensional ordering occurs at 6.36 K.
