Abstract

This report is the outcome of the second year in-company assignment written by Tugce Tosun Uslu to successfully complete the program and be eligible for the PDEng degree.
The aim of this assignment was to investigate the applicability of the luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) device in the built environment, to develop design concepts, and to create a successful business case for a new product that utilizes the LSC technology. This project was realized in collaboration with Heijmans; therefore it was also intended to increase the visibility of LSC and complement the ongoing Solar Noise Barrier (SONOB) demonstrator project which has been developed by Heijmans, TU/e and other business partners.
As a result of this one year design project, an LSC-based outdoor lighting pole was designed and the business plan to explain the requirements of bringing this product into the market was proposed. This plan constitutes the first part of this document (Part A: The Business Plan) and followed by the second part that explains the methodology and the work has been done in the scope of the project (Part B: Supplementary Report).
