Abstract

The ATRP of PEGMAs could be successfully applied to an octafunctional macroinitiator with the formation of the well-defined 8-arm star polymers of narrow polydispersities (PDI = 1.08-1.11). The control over the polymns. could be achieved under surprisingly mild conditions, even at ambient temp. The star coupling reaction could be suppressed by using appropriate reaction conditions.
