In this article the authors reflects on the basis of their previous experiences and assessment techniques used in Holland and the analysis of institutionalized assessment prevailing in Latin America. This article has several parts. In a brief introduction to the topic, based on present literature, a synthesis of the present context is presented as a theoretical framework within which falls Dutch practices. Then, the authors present their main observations on the assessment of competences experienced by several institutions in Latin America, with regard to competences integration and the assessment practices.
