Inter-subcarrier shase scrambling for PAPR reduction in IM-DD OFDM system

Abstract

By breaking the strong phase connection of constellations among OFDM subcarriers, a pre-defined random phase sequence for PAPR reduction is applied in an IM-DD system. A ~0.8dB receiving sensitivity improvement is achieved at 10-3 BER threshold.
