Abstract

In summary, chemical micro process engineering, i.e. the use of microstructured reactors for chemistry and chemical engineering, offers promising perspectives for tomorrow's processing. This will not really change the large world-scale plants in a mid-term view, but certainly will affect industrial scale-up involving respective pilot and laboratory plants. In addition, laboratory plants for research synthesis and analysis will change to an extent. Actually, the two latter processes have started already [4].
