Abstract

The catalytic performance of a std. Ti mol. sieve catalyst, EUROTS-1, was evaluated at 4 European universities. The hydroxylation of PhOH to catechol and hydroquinone with aq. H2O2 soln. was selected as catalytic test reaction. The use of std. EUROTS-1 catalyst established a reproducible std. reaction procedure. The calcination conditions for the catalyst, the use of internal stds., and the nature and the amt. of the solvent added to the reaction mixt. were major factors in detg. PhOH conversion, product selectivity and product yield. [on SciFinder (R)]
