Abstract

Mechanical and electrical components become smaller and smaller. Since most components produce heat when operating, it is essential to cool them in order to perform well and to ensure the life spam of such a component. A very promising technique is micro/nano-channel cooling. Using a flowing gas or fluid, the devices can be cooled locally where the power is produced. The transport properties of gases at the gas-surface interface play a very important role. Hybrid Molecular Dynamics-Monte Carlo(MD-MC) simulations are used to study these properties. We study the system when introducing flow conditions. A cold gas cooling the warm walls of the channel is investigated.
