Highly linear FMCW signal using an InP integrated tunable laser

Abstract

A FMCW signal in C-band is experimentally demonstrated using a tunable laser from an InP generic photonic integration platform. By applying a 100kHz-triangle voltage signal on an intra-cavity phase modulator, a frequency excursion of 2.7 GHz with high linearity correlation coefficient of 99.98% is achieved.
